YOUR GUIDE TO THE TWIN CITIES

HealthPartners family of organizations has more than 10,000 employees, serves more than 1.3 million members, and provides health care to more than 500,000 patients in our HealthPartners care delivery system. Founded in 1957, the system includes 70 clinics and three hospitals in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. It is the largest consumer-governed, nonprofit health care organization in the nation, providing care, coverage, research and education to improve the health of members, patients and the community.
We had a successful year in 2009, thanks to our dedicated employees who share our mission to improve the health of our members, patients and community. In 2009, Regions Hospital became the first Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in Minn. We helped found a coalition of organizations to ensure our state's poorest residents have access to health care. A program to provide psychiatric medications to low-income patients received a 2009 Community Leadership Award honorable mention from America's Health Insurance Plans. We also support our community through fund raising, volunteerism and special programs. Our employees serve on 170 community boards and participate in events like the Heart Walk and NAMI Walk. We also partner with the YMCA to sponsor a program to prevent childhood obesity and sponsored Give Kids a Smileā which provided a weekend of free dental care to children in need. And we offer our employees programs to help them get or stay fit. We have a Healthy Benefits wellness program and our Committee for Increased Activity provides information (walking paths, wellness resources) and organizes activities (Walk Day, Winter Skate night, basketball leagues, etc.). And, finally, 94 percent of our employees say they have a good understanding of how their job contributes to achieving our mission.
